1970 Plymouth "Hemi Cuda" Custom Convertible
This HEMI ‘Cuda was professionally built by starting with a rust-free Barracuda convertible. No expense was spared to build this Resto-Mod with upgraded performance capabilities. A modern Chrysler powertrain was utilized to attain peak performance without the hassle of special fuel. The complete 6.1-liter HEMI engine and matching overdrive automatic transmission pulled from a Dodge Challenger SRT was utilized, and for a little additional horsepower, Pro-Chargers, P-1SC-1 supercharger has been fitted to the car producing a very drivable 650 HP pushing around 550 HP to the rear wheels. All engine management electronics were utilized from the donor Challenger for ease of tuning, maintenance and troubleshooting. Suspension, brakes, gauges and all audio equipment are top-of-the-line components. Nice paint work and numerous styling modifications are topped off by a custom black cloth power convertible top. The interior was done in black leather with a full custom state-of-the-art gauge insert in the stock dash. Custom-fitted, special-order wheels were supplied by Fesler with 18” General tires to finish off the look of this ‘CUDA’ For stability this car is riding on a new Pro-touring K-Member with tubular upper control arms and adjustable coil overs and sway bar. The rear sits on a four link rear suspension system with coil overs and sway bar. For stopping power this car comes with the HYDRATECH High Performance brake booster and four wheel slotted and drilled big Disc Brakes. Only a few careful miles have been driven since this car’s completion.
