1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible
– Rare X11 Camaro RS SS
– Rebuilt 350 V-8 presenting 300hp
– 4sp Manual Transmission
– Complete Frame-off Restoration
While subject to individual preferences, the 1969 Camaro is considered by many to be the most desirable year of the first generation presentation from Chevrolet. The 1969 Camaro RS/SS presented at auction is a very fine and rare example displaying the X11 code. The Fisher body cowl tag has never been removed and the number NOR292164BDY coincides with the interior trim, paint and X11 designating the Rally Sport trim options. The car was built in Norwood, OH on March 4, 1969.
The car was subject to a complete, frame-off, nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. With the body removed, the sub-frame was disassembled to bare metal and rebuilt then fitted with new front suspension, bushings, shocks, progressive ratio steering gearbox, new complete braking system and more. The engine was rebuilt and a new 4 speed close ratio manual transmission and clutch was installed. All RS components were replaced.
The exterior and interior present very well. The original paint color, code 72 Hugger Orange, was applied over a very solid body. A fully functioning cowl induction hood, rear spoiler, hidden headlights and white convertible top gives this car an attention grabbing look. The correct interior features deluxe black custom comfort bucket seats, original Hurst shifter with factory reverse lockout, Rally Sport gauges and a full set of seatbelts.
An image of the cowl tag is included in the pictures allowing you to verify the authenticity of the car. This is an exception 69 Camaro that will be a favorite on the car show circuit, a great addition to a private collection or perfect for cruising!
