1929 Ford Model A Roadster Shay Reproduction
The seller states: "I was at a car show with one of my other Model As and a gentleman came up to me and said he had one sitting in a warehouse in California. He had it since he bought it new and it had 3600 miles on it. It was a 1980-81 Ford Shay Reproduction. I told him that I was interested and he said that he was going to the warehouse the next day and that I could follow him. I met him in Parumph, NV and followed him to Anaheim, California. The guy never stopped drove like a maniac all the way there. I had hot rodded one of these before and this one was a good candidate. I loaded it on a trailer and headed for home. Shays have a four cylinder Mustang II engine in them, and the first thing I did was pull that out. I found a Mustang II V6 and bought the car, took the engine and transmission out, had it rebuilt and installed it back into the Model A. I put oversized Ford wheels and tires with beauty rims and hubcaps. I painted it shiny black with 100 mile an hour white, yellow and red flames. This car has a rumble seat, old school tuck and roll naugahyde seats, custom steering wheel, AM/FM radio, heater in the rumble seat and the driver's compartment. This car is a fun car to drive and has very low mileage."
"I'm getting older and I have a bunch of cars. I don't want to sell any of them, but I don't want my wife and kids to have to worry about them. This is just like tearing my heart out!"
