How It Works

Selling Your Car With Classic Car Auction Group

Sell In-Person Or Online

We offer two live auction formats for you to sell your car: on-site and online.

On-Site Auctions

Experience a traditional in-person auction event! All cars are present on-site for the auction and sell in real time on the auction block to bidders in the lane. To enhance your selling potential, we broadcast on-site auctions via a video livestream so bidders from across the country can bid on and buy vehicles in the sale.

Online Only Auctions

Sell your vehicle right from your garage! You provide pictures, video, and a description of your vehicle so we can market it. Your vehicle is then presented for sale on the virtual auction block via an online video livestream. Buyers from across the country bid in real-time to a live auctioneer to your specific car or collection.


Convenient Consignment

We make it easy to sell your classic vehicle.

Consign Your Vehicle

Submit your vehicle to a specific auction with a simple online application.

As part of the application, you'll need to provide the following:

  • Seller Information
  • Vehicle Details & History
  • Vehicle Photos
  • Vehicle Documentation

There is a $100 consignment fee per vehicle. This officially enters your vehicle into an upcoming auction and gives you access to our services.

Set Your Reserve Price (optional)

You can choose to set a reserve price, which is the minimum amount you're willing to accept for your vehicle.

  • If bidding meets or exceeds the reserve price, your car sells automatically.
  • If bidding does not meet the reserve price, your may accept or decline the highest bid.

You remain in control of the final decision.


Secure Payment & Title Transfer

When your vehicle sells, we handle the entire process.

We manage the following:

  • Buyer Payment Processing
  • Secure Funds Transfer
  • Title Transfer
  • Completion of The Transaction

Our team is here to help ensure a safe and seamless experience for both parties.

Transparent Commission Structure

We use a simple two-tier payment structure:

If Selling With Reserve

  • $100 consignment fee per vehicle
  • 8% commission of the final sale price—which only applies if your vehicle sells

If Selling With No Reserve

  • $50 consignment fee per vehicle
  • 6% commission of the final sale price

These are the things you'll need to complete the consignment form and get your vehicle auction-ready.


Vehicle Information

Provide basic vehicle information like make, model, mileage, and VIN. Now is a good time to make sure the VIN on the car matches the title.

Title & Documentation

Get together all paperwork, including the title, relevant restoration records, and any supporting documents that could help boost buyer confidence. Please block any personal information before scanning or photographing these documents.

Description

Write a clear and detailed description that tells the story of your vehicle. This description can be used before and during the auction to give background and show the full value of your vehicle, ultimately boosting your sale price.

Photography

Take quality photos that showcase every aspect of your vehicle. Good pictures are some of the best marketing tools to help sell your classic.

Video Tour

Capture a short walk-around video to give buyers a better feel for your vehicle. With a video tour, show the vehicle start-up, running/idling, and all the same photo angles inside and out.

Pro Tip: Fill out your consignment form as early as possible so we have more time to market your vehicle and build excitement before the auction begins.
